Well, I kind of expected a response to my kind of personal remark in the earlier part of the post than what I wrote later in the message... never mind, that's the human mind.
Don't know about you but I for sure don't rely on just conversing with NGO's or reading news about "atrocities", but actually have involved myself in traveling, teaching and helping institute schools in tribal areas of Jharkhand (Ghatsila-Singhbum), where education had never even reached. The sparkle in their eyes, hospitality and values beats what we find urbanized and modernized world (had the same experience when I visited central Cambodia last month). I also see that casteism is not the same all over in India (a lot less in the west (when I was in Nanded district in Maharashtra) than the north and parts of south) and that it is rapidly changing (compare the caste discrimination 70 years ago with that today, even my active 85 year grandma who has traveled a lot in India, couldn't resist expressing her positive wonderment). The caste discrimination is severe no doubt in certain parts, nor am I trying to water down your experiences - but remember making a blanket statement for 1.2 Billion people demands a lot of explanation!
There is difference working on the ground to make a transformation and witness it from a holistic sense than having a 5 feet level view. Hope you don't take anything personally... but maybe just grasp the gist of my experiences/thoughts.

This shows how ignorant you are about the most prevailing and backward situation in INDIA. Unfortunately the above comments show you like the cat drinking the milk closing eyes thinking nobody is watching her.
Do you even know why the quota system was introduced. it is a different thing that it is not being utilized the way it had to be put into use. You are just from western part of India don't speak as though you are from western part of the world. I guess you don't watch the news where they speak about the various atrocities done on the backward class by the forward class. I feel sorry for your ignorance that is all I can do. When possible go to any NGO social service people and ask about caste system and they will give you ample stories which might shatter your belief. What I agreed with the fellow IV member was on a different issue and I acknowledge the fact that things are wrong in each part of the world and every country has its own share of issues. Just like nobody is perfect not every place is perfect. But not acknowledging the fact that something is so widely prevalent in India just shows how far as an individual you are away from reality.

just sent e-mail to ombudsman. I would encourage all of you to send e-mail regarding FP delay. it did help in getting receipt notices. Please do it for FP also.

My 485 application was received by TSC on July 16th. Intrestingly there are threads that are tracking applicaitons from July 2nd to July 13th and July 17 to Aug 17th? What is wrong with 16th? Are there are one with the same receipt date here?

I think attorneys scare us in using AC21 before I-140. If you have a good attroney she can argue and convince USCIS to approve AC21 before I-140 approval. There can be only 3 reasons of I-140 denial:
- Ability to Pay
- Education
- Experience
Now if you work for a public company, A2P is not an issue. If you have a US degree, or a 4 years degree from outside, educations should not be a concern, unless LC asks for BTech in Comp Sc and you have it in Civil Engg. Laslty on Exp letter, if the only experience you mentioned on LC is the experience for which you have exp letter, you are fine.
Does anyone see anything missing? Come Jan 08, I expect many AC21 with I-140 pending.

Group of EB3 & EB2 folks should take an appointment with DOS Chief first and then with USCIS's Chief. How can we do this ?We will discuss our concerns or interpretations and changes to work towards to clear backlogs or increase Quotas or Visa Recapture..etc. I am in for any group's concerns though I am in EB3.Category does not matter. India is the hardest hit in EB based Immgiration. Let me know How we can get to the attention of the TOP/Key Persons.

Free riders if you are reading this and I know you are, please and please come out of your cheap mentality and donate. You know very well that saving 20$ will not help you build a TajMahal, but donating just 20$ or 50$ will make a huge difference to millions of people INCLUDING YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
So don't be ashamed of yourself by not donating and donate generously.
Not sure where you get this philosophy of encouraging people to donate by hurling insults. There is a solid proposal from realizeit which is gaining traction and many people have committed donations. Motivating people by solid proposals rather than silly insults and calls to their conscience by abusing it gets us nowhere.

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.
On August 12, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before you get your new card call customer service.
Only catch for us is that we are moving next weekend!! I am going to do change of address with USCIS immediately, but in the meanwhile what if they mail documents to my old address? Any suggestions?
Also whats ADIT.
BTW our case was at NSC and priority date is May 2004. Application mailed Aug7th 2007.

It is really sad to hear that. I am no expert by any means but assuming that you are still a young family (say in mid thirties), I would suggest that unless your family is financially secure and have other family members here in the USA to lean on, I will suggest to at least consider the option of going back, irrespective of what the outcome of you green card process may be.

You are in the EB3 category, do you ever wonder why somebody who is more educated than you or me, makes more money? Can we say, hey you I was born in 1890 I should make more money, it does not fly, EB3 is not a reflection on your skills but more the job you hold.
The question you should ask is why have EB1, 2, 3, etc?
Why do you not include the family based categories, isn't family first, why not the EB spill over to to FB first then whatever trickles down comes to EB, is not this fair? I am sure there are a lot in the FB queue who have waited for longer than you. Now dont tell you you are better than FB because you are highly skilled, pay taxes, etc.

I wonder how many who come here on H4 know what complexities lay ahead in the G.C processing. unfortunately it is not easy to undo their marriage and go back.
They need a fair deal too just like the way those in EB-3 are waiting for a proposal that addresses their issues more directly rather than trickle down. I guess u r one of them.
